Rebecca Upjohn –
I’ve read these stories twice. Overall, I found them compelling both times. As a collection it shows how each individual’s experience can contain both the personal and the universal making these stories appealing to a wide and diverse audience, while being steeped in the voices of Black characters and experience. There is a multitude of emotions explored and I felt I was in skilled storytelling hands. Dr Rudine Sims Bishop’s Mirrors, Windows and Sliding glass doors are all accounted for here.
