The Yoga Curriculum for Physical Education K-5
This comprehensive yoga curriculum is an exciting way for students to learn about yoga and obtain its benefits. Each grade consists of a unit that has one breath and six poses starting at kindergarten while building to 5th grade. There are a total of 36 different poses and 6 different types of breaths. Included are yoga pose cards that are a great visual aid for teachers to use. They are a simple way for students to understand and try the pose. Other resources such as yoga dice, yoga spinners, and BINGO cards are available to copy and ready to use.
The curriculum has four lessons per grade level. Every lesson has a yoga game or a yoga activity, an easy to read mat sequence that reinforces the poses, SHAPE America outcomes and assessment ideas.
